He has won 3 National Film Awards, 13 Karnataka State Film Awards and 3 Filmfare Awards. His film America! America!! was hugely successful and screened in theatres across Karnataka for 365 days, and is considered a classic in the Kannada film industry. His teleserial Vataara was also iconic for being the first Kannada show to air 1000 episodes.
Dr. Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar is also actively involved in social causes and movements. His works reflect his social consciousness and commitment to addressing pertinent issues affecting society.
