Dr. Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar is a renowned and versatile personality in the cultural sphere of Karnataka, India. Apart His film career began through writing screenplays for movies made based on his previously written stories. The first film he was a screenplay writer for, Kadina Benki, won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. He then ventured into direction with Undu Hoda Kondu Hoda. He has directed 15 feature films and 10 teleserials which have received critical acclaim and commercial success. He has won 3 National Film Awards, 13 Karnataka State Film Awards and 3 Filmfare Awards. His film America! America!! was hugely successful and screened in theatres across Karnataka for 365 days, and is considered a classic in the Kannada film industry. His teleserial Vataara was also iconic for being the first Kannada show to air 1000 episodes.
